Ketamine often induces a dissociative state, which means you might feel disconnected from your body, time, or memories. Some people come out of a session with vivid imagery or insights—others feel like they were “gone” the whole time.
This doesn’t mean the session didn’t work.
Your brain is still processing and rewiring beneath the surface. You may still experience shifts in mood, clarity, or emotional flexibility in the hours or days afterward—even if you don’t remember the details.
You can still integrate the experience:
Reflect on how you feel emotionally or physically afterward
Journal anything that does come back to you later
Talk through it with a therapist or integration coach
If you’d prefer to stay more connected during sessions in the future, talk to your provider. They can adjust your dose, your setting, or your preparation process to help you retain more of the experience.
