Aftercare and Safety After Ketamine Treatment: Driving, Supervision, and Emotional Recovery

Ketamine affects coordination, memory, and awareness for several hours after treatment. Do not drive yourself home. You’ll need someone to pick you up or arrange a safe rideshare (only if you feel clear enough to handle that responsibly).

Emotionally, you may feel sensitive, raw, or wide open. This is normal. Avoid overstimulating environments, intense conversations, or work obligations for the rest of the day. It’s a good idea to prepare a low-sensory environment at home: soft lighting, food ready, journal nearby, music, or quiet time.

Hydrate, rest, and allow space for feelings to move through you. Even if you don’t remember the session clearly, your nervous system is still processing.

Aftercare isn’t optional—it’s where your insights start to settle in and the healing takes root. Honor the need for slowness.
